I feared the embrace of darkness
I now find in it peace,
Accepting the stillness,
The silence that won’t cease.
My eyes have adjusted,
My mind sees with new insight,
Soothed by the shadows that once haunted.
still, the lack of light takes a toll
My strength, my will, slowly dulls
But though weakened, I am not afraid
For I know that light will soon cascade
And illuminate my darkness.
