For Better

Take me away to a place where the skies aren’t grey, where happiness overshadows pain. Where equality is reality, fueled by love, not bigotry. A place where I can just be, free from hate.
Dark liquid flows into a glass, a reflection of the night sky. Poem: For Better.

Take me away….
To a place where the skies aren’t grey.
Where I can find sunshine and not rain.
Where the happiness overshadows the pain.
With only dry cheeks, none tear stained.
Take me to that place…

And just let me be…..

Where equality is the reality.
A place fueled by love and not bigotry.
Where I can wear my caramel, and I’m just me.
Not someone to shun or looked on hatefully.
I mean…
Is there malice in my smile?
Is that what you see-
Truly?

No, that’s not it…
What you see is fatigue.
Life is so often cruel.
As I’m sure you pretend not to see.
But places reversed,
What would you have me do?
And how would you want me,
To treat you?
