My Poisonous Tongue

My poisonous tongue
Imprisoned my heart
In love’s presence
It reaching in
Me held back from reaching out
My phantom bars
Created real limitations
Searching my soul
Through quiet introspection
Breaking the illusion
To gain my freedom
