Tomorrow Is Unpredictable

Tomorrow is unpredictable
So I’ve learned to live today
Selective of the connections I make
And if love comes be able to recognize it
Not to turn it away
I breathe and give way to patience
Allowing anxiety to dissolve in faith
Threatening my complacency with regret
This is the promise I’ve made to the universe
A bargain struck with myself
I will ride life’s roller coaster
To its peaks and down to its depths
And on the journey I’ve chosen
I pray that god guides me to its end.
