When I Feel Nothing

It’s concerning
When as much as I wish to
At times I feel nothing
What does it mean
To be trapped in this void
Of emotional emptiness
I rest my hand on my heart
To make sure it still beats
Unsure at times of its use
But I wonder how much color life would lose
If it really finally called it quits.
