Consumed by anger

My current self was
Forged in life’s crucible
Breaking from depression’s abyss
By giving in to the flames of my anger
Fueling my steps from the rage of its inferno
To save my current self
I had to douse the fury of that blaze
Before being consumed by that anger
A weapon threatening my destruction
Wielded by my ego
